Obama in Seattle, live-tweeted...

  • weskimcom: I'd feel more guilty about driving places if the buses would actually run on time.
  • weskimcom: And just as I say that, the bus finally shows up, stuffed to the gills, and SKIPS our stop. Criminy...!
  • weskimcom: Oh right, Obama's rally is in two hours, just a few blocks from my office. Could be a long commute...
  • weskimcom: Finally got on a bus. Can't believe all these kids are even old enough to vote!
  • weskimcom: OH on bus full of teens going to Obama rally: "If I could vote, I would TOTALLY vote for Obama."
  • sourjayne: Thanks @weskimcom for your live action on the spot reports from the Obama bus!
  • weskimcom: Today's slogan for the Seattle Obama rally, from the looks of the crowd: Runny noses for Obama!
  • sourjayne: Just saw the line to get into the Obama rally at Key Arena. It's... long.
  • sourjayne: Heading over to get a bacon & egg sandwich to eat while standing in line observing the Obama supporters.
  • weskimcom: Choppers, motorcycle cops...he's coming...
  • weskimcom: In line for Obama rally. We might even get in...
  • sourjayne: We're inside key arena and seated. They're playing inspirational clips and soul music. This place is Packed.
  • weskimcom: Did Ron Sims endorse Obama? Trying to guess who the opening act will be.
  • sourjayne: The arena is at capacity. @katidid says there's a scene outside. The music inside is getting louder. Some seattlites CAN clap on the evens.
  • weskimcom: Sadly, this waiting part is actually quite dull.
  • sourjayne: Captive audience of thousands, no advertising or messaging of any kind. Just waiting. So much wasted opportunity.
  • weskimcom: Obama needs a better mix CD.
  • sourjayne: Two random audience members are entertaining the rest of us with an impromptu dance-off in their seats.
  • weskimcom: @sourjayne that's the most interesting thing that's happened since we got here.
  • sourjayne: Police have barricaded the doors to Key Arena. No one can get in... or out.
  • weskimcom: There's a sign language interpreter on stage chatting with someone, but i don't know what she's saying.
  • sourjayne: Apparently @katidid is on the news! King five... Live?
  • weskimcom: It looks like Chris Gregoire will be the warmup act. They're handing out signs which no one wants to hold.
  • weskimcom: Kool and the Gang? Celebration?? Nooo!! You're going to give the kids the mistaken idea that we liked this song!!
  • sourjayne: Finally, some people on stage, talking about the caucus. Q&A format not so successful with crowd of 16,000. I'm just sayin.
  • sourjayne: Some guy, some singer lady, and the drummer from Pearl Jam on stage, talking about a Fired Up song. Fired Up, ready to go?
  • weskimcom: The sign language interpreter is dancing as she translates the music video lyrics.
  • sourjayne: Some of this music is terrible. I guess that's what happens when you're trying to unify the people.
  • sourjayne: Gov Gregoire announces her endorsement for Obama and is giving a pretty great speech.
  • weskimcom: Opening speakers: Nickels, Smith, Gregoire. And now the man himself...
  • sourjayne: Obama takes the stage, hugs the mayor, kisses the governor, love all around. Warm fuzzies.
  • weskimcom: Medical techs are attending to a woman who was looking faint. Obama singled her out to make sure she was okay. Such a gentleman!
  • weskimcom: Big finish coming up...
  • sourjayne: Damn, this guy is good.
  • weskimcom: @sourjayne you'll have to change your facebook political status from apathetic to...hopeful?
  • sourjayne: There is no inspirational rally that the cynicism of @weskimcom can't dampen.
  • weskimcom: @sourjayne - i would be less cynical if i didn't have that damn eric clapton song going through my head still...
