– Lyrics to the original song “twenkel twenkel” by my 7-year-old son
Won't someone think of the children?
Now that I have a short film appearing in children’s film festivals, I’ve made some minor changes to my Web sites to accommodate younger visitors. Namely, a reference to “postproduction hell” on www.cookiesforsalefilm.com has been changed to “postproduction limbo,” and a link from www.weskim.com to my SNAKES ON A PLANE parody indicates that there’s adult...
How did you make the sheep get big?
– Three-year-old audience member at a festival screening today for my short film. Actually, she pronounced it “seep.” Also, the expanding sheep were in another film altogether. An animated film, at that. It was very cute, and she was very sweet for asking. Sadly, her embarrassment at...

Me: Shit!
My wife: No, pee.

for many months, our 7yo has asked for the same thing for dessert almost every night - “two little scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and rainbow sprinkles and a little shiny spoon.”
or, as he says it, “twolittlescoopsofvanillaicecreamwithchocolatesauce- andrainbowsprinklesandalittleshinyspoon.”
Spectacular skateboard accident
I was at Caffe Vita in Capitol Hill with the kids this morning. We had finished our snacks and drinks and were heading outside, when a redheaded tween went shooting by on a skateboard. Two sections of the sidewalk had been pushed together like ice floes so that the level of the cement suddenly jumped up a couple inches. His front wheels caught on this mini-wall of cement, and the kid went flying...
reading about canine worms online and getting really grossed out
Giving Greg Pak a hard time for joining MySpace.
just found out a project got put on hold pending a budget/schedule extension. woo-hoo! now just ONE project i have to come in on sunday for.

Signage on a semi truck side panel: “Fire Putter-Outer Inside.” Doubleplusawesome!
@sourjayne - figuratively or literally?
@sourjayne x = total # of hours, y = # of projects, hours per project = x/y. bada-boom, bada-bing - done!
I say again—“learnings” is not a word, you marketing nimrods…!
@ktamura - same exact thing happened to me this morning - damn!
all you people with pets - time to see if they’re paying attention - http://www.linein.org/media/screenclean.swf
@sourjayne - Writers strike. No new tornadoes until next season.
@schlchtmyr - no time for questions - let him out, for god’s sake!
dear twitter: if i ever complain again about not having enough to do, just smack me. hey, @ricburwal - how’s vacation going?
i had a song stuck in my head earlier and was going to twitter it, but it’s gone now. lucky you, unless you absolutely must know what it was
locking your keys in your trunk by accident? very annoyiing. finding out your neighbor has spare house and car keys? awesome.
@sourjayne don’t worry, the postal service will be fine once they starting earning $0.05 off every email - http://rurl.org/gps

Four hours of meetings scheduled for tomorrow…whee…
My wife Nelson-ha-ha’ed me over IM for leaving the house while wearing our dog’s treat pouch. One of the many reasons we’re together.
@vanessaau - you’re dating @ktamura? wow - he’s so dreamy!
@bmonzing - a) http://snur does not resolve to a site. b) using the word “webinar” with a straight face is verboten.
That smell of smoked meat on the bus? Why, yes, that’s me - still wearing the fanny pack of dog treats from this morning’s walk. So handy!
Due to lack of use, my monthly bus pass is feeling less like a bargain and more like a donation.
@ricburwal - that’s the name of my band! (no, wait—shit…!)
@bmonzing - is this where i’m supposed to say, “that’s the name of my band”?
@sourjayne - it’s good to know that even during this scheduled twitter outage, the important news is still coming through
After spending the day home sick, going to lie down again. If it weren’t for the sick part, this would be awesome.
figured on refraining from ledger-related tweets - how can i compete with this? http://rurl.org/gkw
after numerous false alarms, i may finally be getting sick for real - guess we’ll see tomorrow…
@sourjayne and yet @twatson hasn’t seen fit to document the rancho bravo taco truck a block down from dick’s - a glaring omission…

On the right, Owen Wilson giving a hi-ya kick for his new movie DRILLBIT TAYLOR. On the left, the CGI star of KUNG FU PANDA. That’s right — lest you be confused, Owen Wilson and the CGI panda will NOT BE IN THE SAME MOVIE. Somehow, I feel that it’s really Wilson’s loss in this case.
Perhaps Paramount/Dreamworks could create high-kick posters for...

local theater company is holding auditions for the musical CHESS. as my wife quoted from Sex in the City, “Why? And more importantly, why??”
Going to meet a friend for dinner and JUNO later. See what all the fuss is about. (JUNO, not dinner.)
